At Pineywoods Aiki-Jujutsu , we are a proud and active member in the Nacogdoches community, training in traditional Japanese martial arts. We practice Gyokushin Ryu Aikido and Yoseikan Budo which is a sōgō budō or composite system of martial arts developed Master Minoru Mochizuki in early pre-WWII Japan after many years of training in and mastering multiple styles. It is composed of core elements from Aikijujutsu, Jujutsu, Judo, Shotokan Karate, and Kobudo blended into a single, well-structured system. This allows the instructors at Texas Aikido to provide a contemporary approach to training both adult and children in traditional Japanese martial arts, while at the same time providing a safe environment where students can focus on an ethical conflict resolution for self-defense.
Pineywoods Aiki-Jujutsu is affiliated with the United States Gyokushrin Ryu Federation (USGRAF) under the direction of Shihan Glenn Pack, Technical Director for North America, and with the International Gyokushin Ryu Aikido Federation under the direction of Terumi Washizu founder of Gyokushin Ryu Aikido. A number of Pineywoods Aiki-Jujutsu; instructors have gone to Japan and/or Canada to Aikido events to train under Master Washizu sensei and all Texas Aikido instructors have their black belt ranking certified through Japan
